Nagpur. After the general elections, the voters believed and sent them to the Municipality. In the beginning, some time was wasted to understand the process of the Municipal Corporation. Somehow the development of the division was given impetus, but due to the corona epidemic for 2 years and the lack of funds due to the opposition party, the councilors disclosed in the ‘Nav Bharat-Samvad’ the pace of development. The councilors believed that every councilor works for basic facilities like roads, electricity, water.
Even these basic problems are given priority but the tenure of 5 years has been very complicated. Even the large section of the population has not got the funds as per the requirement, due to which the works could not be completed due to lack of funds, despite having the psyche of fulfilling the assurances given to the voters. Despite all the adverse situation, to some extent, efforts were made to solve the problems on priority basis.
Difficulty in slum and dense settlement development
Division 20 councilor Shakuntala Parve said that there was a problem of contaminated water supply in the division for many years. Even in many areas there was no sewerage line. First of all, priority was given to solve the problem of sewerage line and drinking water in the division. Efforts were made to reach water to the people by cleaning all the public wells of the division. Roads were renovated. The gutter chambers were broken at many places. They have been repaired. Tanker water supply was ensured in the non-network parts. Due to continuous efforts, at present the problem of drinking water has been solved to a great extent.
There is no need to supply water by tanker. The division has the most complex of slums and dense population, due to which many problems arose while developing in these settlements, but with the cooperation of the people, they overcame every problem. In the tenure of 5 years, about 80 percent development works have been carried out. Work was also done to distribute Malki Patta to the slum dwellers. During the Corona period, food etc. has also been helped to the needy.
NIT’s closed market could not start
Division 30 councilor Snehal Bihare said that there was a serious problem of gutter line in the division. Even the work was impossible due to encroachment on the sewerage line. Despite this, in coordination with the people, about 80 percent of the sewerage line work has been completed. Cement roads have been prepared in the division. Roads have been asphalt in some areas. Many areas did not have water channels for 15 years, due to which these areas were first brought into the network. Water supply was started by putting water channels, due to which the division has been able to become tanker free.
Food and grain kits were distributed to the poor and needy during the Corona period. The premises were completely sanitized. A lot of development work has been done with the funds of MPs and MLAs. The work of the tank is going on under the AMRUT scheme, due to which the 24 by 7 plan will be realized in the division soon. Municipal schools have also been rejuvenated. The gardens were beautified. Oxygen Garden was created. Many types of development works were done but there has been no success in starting the closed market of NIT. This market has the mindset of creating state-of-the-art packages.
Discrimination in fund distribution
Division 30 councilor Sanjay Mahakalkar said that this tenure of 5 years was very troublesome. The discriminatory attitude of the ruling BJP in the distribution of funds on the one hand and the tragedy of the corona epidemic on the other hand has had a great impact on development. Despite all the difficulties, the development of the Division has been realized by raising funds through different means. There was a demand of Trikoni Park in Dwarkanagar for 15 years which has been fulfilled. The work of beautification of the garden was completed in the first year.
Roads were asphaltised. Aapli bus was started from Dattatraynagar complex. Beautification of 2 big gardens was done in the division. The work of beautification of the Bhosale period Sakkardara pond has also started. Even though the 24 by 7 scheme is being thrashed by the BJP across the country, the reality is that it has not been possible in many areas. A vivid example of this is that the Bada Tajbag complex still has to supply water from 30 to 35 tankers every day. Despite being within the city, there is no 24 by 7 plan. Alam is that we are not able to provide water 24 hours in a week.
Municipal school was developed. Priority work has been done to give justice to the poor people in slum areas. Tabs were distributed to poor students in municipal schools. 60 lakh fund has been approved for Dattatraynagar Garden. 40 lakh from the fund of foster minister Nitin Raut. given for development. There was sewerage problem in many parts of the division. In many places, sewage sludge was broken. A new sewerage line has been laid in these areas.
Division 22 Councilor Rajesh Ghodpade said that there was a lot of problem of drinking water in the division. Water supply to about 200 families was ensured by removing the debris from the public wells located at Old Mangalwari. Through OCW, people are now getting water supply from water channels under the house-to-house tap scheme. Schools have been revamped. A security wall was constructed on Hatti Nala. Almost all the development work has been done regarding the basic facilities in the division.
Every road has been renovated. Worked for sewerage, lid of chambers etc. Many development works can also be done from the MP fund. Apart from this, funds have also been received from MLAs for development works. But the work of DP Road is pending. Since the beginning, tireless efforts were made to carry out this work, but despite the power in the Municipal Corporation, it has not been possible due to many reasons.
problems solved
Division 22 Councilor Manoj Chafle said that till some time ago there was a problem of drinking water in the division, due to which the public wells were cleaned and water was supplied by installing motor pumps on the wells. Now people are getting water supply due to the laying of water channels by OCW. Water is being supplied through tankers in the non-network complex, where the work of laying new aqueducts is going on. Roads were cemented. Also asphaltization was done in some areas.
Cement roads worth 44 crores were prepared from MLA fund, while cement roads worth 3 crores are proposed. Deodia Hospital was closed for the last 20 years. Tried to start it with the aim of providing health services to the people. With the efforts, the proposal has been approved by the state government. Similarly, funds were sanctioned for 3 new hospitals in the division. 21 crore proposals are pending with the central government. A security wall was built on the drain. Path lamps were installed in each campus. During the Corona period, 23 tonnes of food grains were distributed to the needy with the help of traders.
Development with the help of MP-MLA
Division 5 councilor Abhiruchi Rajgire said that there was a lot of problem of road, sewerage in the division which was solved on priority. 80 percent cement roads were completed from the MP fund. 4 gardens were developed. An Ayurvedic garden has been developed in Khushinagar with the funds of former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. LED path lamps were installed in every area. Water supply is being done under 24 by 7 scheme in most parts.
Shantinagar bus stop was started. Municipal school has been repaired. An underground line has been laid for the provision of electricity. On the process on the impure water of the drain, the pure water is being brought to the use of the garden. The composting project from waste has started. The work of Kavrapeth overbridge and underbridge is going on with the help of MP Nitin Gadkari. Cement roads worth 45 crores were prepared. Similarly, development works worth 65 crores were done in 5 years.
Most of the tanker freed
Division 26 councilor Samita Chakole said that 50 percent of the division is border area. Developing here was no less than a challenge. Earlier 300 tankers used to supply water in the division. Under the AMRUT scheme, the water problem has been solved in many areas with a network of water channels. At present, in non-network areas only 25 to 30 tankers have to supply water. Road work was done on priority in the undeveloped campus. The security wall of the drain was prepared. Sewerage lines have been laid, path lamps have been installed.
6 gardens were developed in different parts. A lot of development has been done from MP and MLA funds. Presently most of the roads of the division are shining. The work of sports complex is going to be completed soon. Apart from this, ownership pattas were distributed to 300 slum dwellers. Beautification of school premises was done in Wathoda campus. During the Corona period, people were helped by running community kitchens. Cereal kits were distributed.
Division 6 councilor Vandana Chandekar said that there are 4 BSP councilors in the division. The councilors coordinated and planned the work. Every effort was made to solve the problems of the people. Being in the opposition party, the councilors of BSP have no support of MP and MLA funds. The development of the division has been completed only on the basis of the funds received by the councilor. There was a lot of problem of drinking water and sewerage in the division. The sewerage line at many places had become dilapidated. Even the aqueduct was damaged at many places. Sewerage lines and water channels were laid in such areas.
Green gyms were set up in many gardens. The chamber was repaired. Due to non-receipt of funds during the Corona period, the development of the division is stalled for 2 years, due to which the work has not been done as expected during the tenure of these 5 years. Despite all the adversity, the problems of the people were solved. Funds were provided to the beneficiaries under Ramai Gharkul Yojana. Health camps were organized in the division. Even camps were organized for distribution of health cards. There was an intention to develop in the direction of employment and education, but due to lack of funds, some works have remained incomplete.
