Foreign Media on India’s COVID Situation: The whole world is worrying about the conditions of Coronavirus in India. According to the data released on Wednesday morning by the Ministry of Health, 3,60,960 new cases of infection and 3293 deaths have been recorded within 24 hours. Now the total number of cases has gone up to 1,79,97,267, while the total number of dead has reached 2,01,187 (India Total COVID Cases). A record number of deaths have been recorded in a single day in the country, which is being discussed worldwide. Concern has also been expressed in foreign media on this.
The British newspaper, The Guardian, wrote in the headline, ‘India’s COVID crisis: forced to arrange funeral pyre at other places in Delhi’s crematorium’. It reads, ‘A large number of bodies are being brought to the crematoriums in Delhi, due to which arrangements are being made to burn the pyre at other places. Because a large number of new cases are being registered in the COVID crisis in the country. There is a lot of trouble in the crematoriums in the capital, grieving relatives of the dead have to wait for 20 hours till the last rites are performed. Dozens of dead bodies have also been brought to the car park location.
‘Deadliest day in the country’
Pakistan’s news website Dawn wrote in the headline, “After the record cases in India, the death toll crossed two lakhs.” The article reads, ‘The total number of dead on Wednesday in India has exceeded two lakhs, which is the deadliest day in the country. Due to record new cases here, there has been a shortage of oxygen, medical supplies and hospital staff. In the second wave of infection, at least 3 lakh people are being infected every day for the past one week. Due to which pressure is increasing in hospitals and crematoriums (India Coronavirus Situation). Due to which immediate international response is coming.
‘Healthy system is broken’
The US news agency Associate Press wrote in the headline, “Viruses have broken the healthy system, two lakh deaths have occurred here.” It reads, ‘On Wednesday, the death toll in India has gone above two lakhs. There has been an increase in new cases in major cities and rural areas (Death Toll in India). The health care system is on the verge of collapse. This country, the world’s second most populous, is currently facing the darkest chapter of the epidemic. India, with a population of 140 crores, is the fourth country in the world where more than two lakh people have died. In this case, America is at the first place, Brazil at second and Mexico at third.
‘No room for funeral’
Qatar’s news website Al Jazeera has written in the headline, “More than 2 lakh deaths in record cases in India.” It reads, ‘The death toll from KVID-19 in India has exceeded two lakhs. The second wave has affected India’s low-cost healthcare system in the South Asian country. There is a shortage of medical oxygen and beds in hospitals across the country. Even in crematoriums, there is no space left for the last rites. Due to which the last rites are being done at parking places and temporary places like parks.
