Five people kidnapped the minor
According to local media reports, on March 8, the girl was abducted by five people from her home. Her father said that five armed men dragged her daughter from her home in a white vehicle. An FIR has been registered in this case. However, the teenager appeared in court on Wednesday and claimed that she is over 18 years of age. After her statement, she was transferred from Kashmore to Ghotki as she alleged that she had married against her parents’ will.
Case registered under the Child Marriage Prevention Act
Even after the minor’s claim, the police has registered a case under the Sindh Child Marriage Prevention Act. Under this, if a person marries a minor, he may have to undergo a jail term of up to three years. At the same time, a medical examination will be done to check the girl’s talk, so that her real age can be ascertained. On the other hand, the girl has also sought protection from the court under pressure.
