Nagpur. An old man trapped in a fraud case committed suicide by consuming poison fearing FIR. This incident took place in Dhantoli police station area. The deceased was said to be Amit Maroti Kove (63), a resident of Purani Basti, Borgaon. Covey was a social worker. During some work, he got acquainted with Shilpa Rajiv Palparthi and Ramesh Kamane. The two told Covey that they had a good reputation in government offices. If you want, familiar unemployed youth can get a job.
Cove collected Rs 1.50 crore from the youth for the job. Shilpa and Ramesh also gave fake appointment letters to candidates in the name of railway officials. When the fraud came to light, the aggrieved candidates started demanding money back from Kove. Some youths occupied his house located in the Surendragarh complex. Some snatched the car and someone snatched 2 two wheelers. Some people complained about the matter to the police. The rural police was probing the case. Covey was also called in for questioning.
Covey felt that now there would be an FIR against him. Will have to go to jail and there will be slander. Amit reached Panchsheel Chowk on January 14 at 2 pm. After walking here and there for a while, he inhaled the poison. His health deteriorated and he fell unconscious. People standing around informed the police about the incident.
He was immediately taken to the medical hospital for treatment. Since then Amit’s condition remained worrisome. Amit died on Monday morning. Based on the information received from the medical booth, the Dhantoli police registered a case of accidental death. It is said that on Sunday, the rural police had also registered a case against him.
