Farmers’ Tractor Rally On Republic Day News Updates: A group of protesting peasants broke police barricades at Singhu and Tikri border and entered Rajdhani on Tuesday morning. According to officials, the security personnel tried to convince the farmers that their tract parade has been approved and they can take out their parade in Delhi after the completion of the Republic Day Parade at Rajpath. But some group of farmers did not listen to them and broke the police barricades on Outer Ring Road and proceeded.
Under the banner of United Kisan Morcha, 41 farmers organizations are opposing the three agricultural laws passed by the Center. They have been demonstrating for the last two months on the borders of Delhi. A member of the United Kisan Morcha says that those who have broken the barricades are affiliated to the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Samiti.
Tractor rally to be out after Republic Day parade
Farmers, who have been protesting against three new agricultural laws for more than 60 days on the Delhi border, are going to take out a tractor rally in the capital on Tuesday. It has been named the Kisan Gantantra Parade. A large number of farmers from states like Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan etc. are joining the tractor rally with their tractors. There are estimated to be more than 2 lakh tractors in the tractor rally.
Farmers’ organizations have said that the tractor rally will be taken out peacefully and we will not go to the Republic Day parade. The heads of organizations have appealed to all those who participated in the tractor rally to take out the rally in peace. The Delhi Police has allowed farmers organizations to carry out tractor parades on select routes with conditions. The tractor parade will take place between 11.30 am and 12 am after the Republic Day Parade ends at Delhi’s Rajpath. The tractor rally can last 10-12 hours.
These are the routes of tractor parade
The tractor parade of farmers will begin at three border points of Delhi – Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur (UP Gate). The first tractor rally will go from Singhu Border to Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, DTU, Shahabad Dairy, Barwala Village, Puth Khurd Village, Kanjhawala Tea Point, Kanjhawala Chowk, Bawana, Qutubgarh, Auchandi Border and Kharkhoda Toll Plaza. During this time, tractor rally will cover 63 km route.
The rally starting from the Tikari border will decide the 62-km route and will pass through Nangloi, Baprola village, Najafgarh. The tractor parade starting from Ghazipur border will reach parts of NH-24, from where it will take the right turn to reach Ghazipur border via Road No. 56, ISBT Anand Vihar, Apsara Border, Hapur Road, Bhopura, IMS College, Lal Kuan. This rally will cover 68 km of route.
To prevent traffic disruptions due to the tractor parade of farmers, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued advisory regarding route diversion and has asked the passengers to avoid the routes where the protesting farmers will take the tractor parade. Read this in detail…

Tableaux in tractor parade as well
The main attraction of the farmers’ tractor rally will be the tableaux, in which the holy Guru Granth Sahib will be in the trolley. People will walk behind the holy vehicle of Guru Granth Sahib and there will be tractor behind them. All vehicles participating in the tractor parade are being decorated with flowers and posters of Sikh leaders like Shaheed Baba Deep Singh, Baba Banda Singh Bahadur and Guru Tegh Bahadur are being put on both sides. In the rally, there will be ‘tableaux’ of all the states, which will show the condition of the farmers. Some tractors will pay tribute to the farmers who died during the movement. Some tractors will also show tricks.
Hundreds of women will drive tractors
Hundreds of women are also expected to make their presence known by driving tractors in the tractor parade of farmers. According to social worker Jeba Khan, women will join the tractor parade shoulder to shoulder with male farmers. At least 500 women will participate in the parade.
Comprehensive settlement of security
Thousands of armed security personnel have been deployed along Rajpath and several borders of the national capital in view of the Republic Day celebrations and the proposed tractor parade of farmers. Five-level security cover has been deployed in and around the city to maintain law and order during the Republic Day celebrations and the proposed tractor parade. One reason for the security system being chalked is that 300 Twitter handles have been generated from Pakistan to disrupt the tractor parade.
