Amravati. The Food and Drug Administration has raided the famous Me.Bandukwala Shapi located on Jawahar Road and seized a large consignment of counterfeit medicine named Ayurvedic Pen Neil Powder. An FIR has been registered at Kholapuri Gate police station after receiving a report from the forensic lab that a substance named Diclofenac sodium was mixed in the seized Ayurvedic pen indigo powder. On the report of the Inspector of Food and Drug Administration Manish Vishwasrao Gotmare (43), a case has been registered against the operator of Gunwala Shapi, Joeb Ali Hatim Ali (74, Jawahar Road), under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.
Facts Revealed from Forensic Reports
Manish Vishwasrao Gotmare, Inspector of Food and Drug Administration Department, received a confidential complaint that fake medicines are being sold in the name of Ayurvedic pen indigo powder on a large scale in Jawahar Road’s famous Me.Gunwala Shapi. Consuming this medicine has bad consequences on human health and kidney.
The Food and Drug Administration immediately raided the gunman Shapi. In the investigation here, 28 sachets of fake medicine named Ayurvedic pen indigo powder were found. Samples of this spurious medicine were sent to the Government Analyst Food and Drug Administration Laboratory, Nagpur for testing. The fact of this medicine being counterfeit was revealed in the investigation report of the forensic lab.
Fake medicine dangerous to health
A substance called diclofenac sodium is mixed in this fake medicine. Consumption of which has bad consequences on human health. Joeb Ali Hatim Ali, despite having a license to sell Ayurvedic medicine, is kept in the shop after buying fake medicine illegally without a bill and not buying it by authorized bill.
That is why on January 26, the Kholapuri Gate police filed a complaint against the accused Joyab Ali Hatim Ali under sections 274, 275, 18 (c), 18 (a), 22(1), (CCA), 16 (1), (a). (B) (D) A case has been registered under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. There has been a stir due to the fact that the business of counterfeit medicines is being run from the famous shop of the city.
