Amravati. The tenure of the agricultural markets of the district has been extended once again for three months. This decision will be applicable for 9 out of 12 market committees of the district. And the administrative rule will continue in Nandgaon Khandeshwar, Dhamangaon Railway and Anjangaon Surji. Due to this order of the operators of the remaining 9 market committees, for the sixth time in a row, the bat has become bat-bat.
Tenure will be till 23 April
The tenure of the board of directors of 12 agriculturally generated market committees of the district has ended in the year 2020. But in view of the threat of COVID infection, it was decided to postpone the elections for one year. Due to which the Board of Directors got the time extension on their own. However, out of this, administrators had been appointed on the market committees of Nandgaon Khandeshwar, Dhamangaon Railway and Anjangaon Surji.
During the preparation for conducting elections in all the market committees including these three market committees, due to the onset of the first wave of COVID infection, for the first time on 24 January 2020, the extension of 6 months was given, which ended on 23 July 2020. But even at this time the effect of infection was continuing. In such a situation, for the second time on July 24, an extension of six months was given.
In such a situation, after getting the life of the Board of Directors for almost a year, there was hope about the elections being held last year that, due to the second wave of COVID infection, the election was postponed once again for three months on 24 January 2021. . This period ended on 24th April, but this time again for 6 months the Mandi operators were given an extension of six months and the elections were postponed. This period ended on 23 October and this time the election campaign started.
But in the meantime, the election program was postponed due to an order given by the Aurangabad Bench of the High Court. Along with this, on 23 October 2021, the market operators were given time extension for the fifth time due to the scheduling of the election of service cooperative institutions and later the election of the market committee. This period of three months is ending on Sunday 23 January.
In such a situation, for the last several days, there was an atmosphere of confusion and curiosity about the operators getting the extension for the sixth time or the appointment of administrators in the crop markets. But for the sixth time an extension of three months has been given to the operators of 9 market committees of the district, an order issued by the state government last day. In such a situation, now the existing board of directors of these 9 market committees will be functioning till 23 April 2022.
