Polling for the last phase of UP is going on, which is to be held by 6 pm. Exit polls will start coming as soon as the polling is over.

Know how accurate are Exit Polls?
Talking about the results of exit polls, they were proved wrong in the last several assembly elections. For example, in the West Bengal assembly elections, most of the exit polls claimed the BJP to get more than 100 seats. But when the results came, BJP was reduced to 77 seats. At the same time, Mamata Banerjee’s TMC won 211 seats and formed the government with an absolute majority.
Similarly, exit polls were proved to be completely wrong in the Bihar assembly elections as well. Here most of the news channels and agencies gave a landslide victory to the RJD and Congress alliance in their exit polls. However, when the result came, everything turned upside down. The coalition of BJP and JDU formed the government for the third time in the state.

Apart from this, the exit polls were proved completely wrong in the Haryana assembly elections as well. In most of the exit polls, the BJP had claimed to get more than 70 seats in the state. But BJP was reduced to just 40 seats and could not even cross the absolute majority mark. However, later BJP formed the government with JJP.
What is Exit Poll?
Exit polls are prepared on the basis of the responses of the voters. When a voter comes out of the polling booth after casting his vote, he is questioned by news channels and survey agencies about voting. Voters are asked which party they have cast their vote for. The responses of the voters are collected by the survey agencies and then the exit polls are broadcast. The data is collected by asking questions from thousands of voters and after analyzing the vote percentage and seats are estimated. Sometimes these exit polls prove to be accurate and sometimes they are also proved wrong.
When and where will you be able to see exit polls?
The most prominent exit polls in India are usually conducted by Chanakya, CVoter, and MyAxis India, also known as CNN-News18, ABP Network, Times Now, India Today, India TV, News18 India, Aaj Tak, Zee News and TV9 Bharatvarsh including other TV channels.
Exit polls will be issued after 6:30 pm as per the guidelines of the Election Commission. According to the rules of the Election Commission, no opinion poll or exit poll can be issued during the process of election. Doing so is a violation of the rule and breaking it can also lead to action against media groups.
