Lucknow : While the atmosphere of Vidhan Sabha elections is over in UP, on the other hand, illegal liquor is being cracked down by the UP Excise Department. So that it does not affect the election in any way. Due to which the Excise Department is conducting raids from place to place, and is also destroying illegal liquor bases.
Significantly, during enforcement, 62,750 raids and 6,452 cases were registered against the manufacture and sale of illicit liquor, in which 2,41,682 liters of illicit liquor were recovered and 5,54,364 kg. Lahan was destroyed on the spot, along with the arrest of 2,472 accused, and 80 vehicles seized. 561 lawsuits and 31,313 litigations were filed in a day. Illegal liquor was seized and about 49,335 kg. Lahan and several kilns were destroyed on the spot. 176 accused were arrested and 4 vehicles were seized. Action taken in excise and relevant sections. At the same time, while taking action at the bases of manufacture and sale of illicit liquor, a large quantity of liquor was recovered and a large quantity of lahan and kilns were destroyed on the spot.

Major action taken in these districts
- In Shahjahanpur district, joint team of Excise and Police Department took action against illicit liquor, while recovering 720 bottles of Old Munk brand rum, 2 vehicles were also recovered and 4 accused were arrested and FIR was registered.
- In Jhansi, a joint team of Excise and Police conducted extensive raids and seized 1950 liters of raw liquor and 4 cases were registered.
- Similarly, while taking action against illegal liquor at various places in Kanpur city, 5 cases were registered while recovering 1140 liters of raw liquor.
- In Basti, the excise team took 820 liters while taking enforcement action under Paraspur and Cantonment police station. Three cases were registered while destroying 700 kg of Lahan after recovering liquor.
- In Fatehpur district, 712 liters were taken by the excise team at places like Uchaiyapur, Saints, Kanchanpur etc. 1000 kg of raw liquor seized Lahan was destroyed on the spot and 13 charges were registered.
- 602 liters by raiding many suspicious places in Rampur. Nine charges were registered while recovering liquor.
- In Hamirpur district, under police station Kurara and Majhgawan, 620 liters were raided in the gorge of Yamuna river. 8 cases were registered for seizing raw liquor.
- In the order of the division-wise arrest and confiscation proceedings, a total of 2496 litres were registered while raiding various suspicious places in the districts of Gorakhpur, Deoria, Maharajganj and Kushinagar located under Gorakhpur division. Illegal liquor was recovered and 5600 kg of Lahan and furnaces were destroyed on the spot.
- Taking action against the manufacture and sale of illicit liquor in Basti Mandal, 1830 lees were registered and 17 charges were filed. Liquor was confiscated.
- Registering 94 cases in Lucknow division, 3084 liters. Illegal liquor was recovered and 11895 kg of Lahan was destroyed on the spot. 40 accused were arrested and tried under excise and other relevant sections.
- Registering 48 cases in Bareilly division, 3650 liters. A case was registered against 23 accused after recovering illegal liquor.
- Large scale raids were conducted by the department in Meerut division, in which 2385 liters were registered while registering 30 cases. Liquor was confiscated and 8260 kg. Action was taken against 7 accused while destroying Lahan on the spot.
- In Moradabad division, 51 cases were registered against those manufacturing and selling illicit liquor after recovering 2860 liters of liquor and action was taken against 10 accused for destroying 3380 kg of Lahan on the spot.
- Taking action against the manufacture and sale of illicit liquor in Saharanpur division, 26 cases were registered and 2431 litres. Seizing liquor and destroying 1800 kg of Lahan on the spot, action was taken against 4 accused.
- Taking massive action against raw liquor in Jhansi division, 2632 liters. Raw liquor was recovered and 13 cases were registered after destroying 2000 kg of Lahan on the spot.
In the same sequence, during the raid, 1016 liters in Varanasi charge, 1012 liters in Prayagraj, 419 liters in Mirzapur division, 836 liters in Azamgarh division, 696 liters in Ayodhya division, 979 liters in Devipatan division, 1151 liters in Agra division. ., 721 in Aligarh and 1671 in Chitrakootdham charge. Liquor was recovered and a huge quantity of lahan and equipment and furnaces used for making liquor were recovered by the staff and destroyed on the spot.
