Chandrapur, The strike of ST workers, who have been agitating for the last 45 days, for the demand of merger in the government department, continued on Tuesday. Today some personnel were expected to join the agars of Chandrapur division, but till late evening none of the personnel had joined the duty. Meanwhile, all the passengers are facing a lot of problems due to non-operation of ST buses.
It is noteworthy that ST bus is the only means which has access to village to village. But due to the ST workers going on strike, all the buses of Chandrapur, Rajura, Chimur, Warora Agar under Chandrapur Division are stalled. Because of this, commuters traveling daily in urban areas and rural areas are forced to resort to private vehicles. In such a situation, due to over-loading of passengers by private vehicles, the risk of accident has increased, as well as the passengers have to pay more fees due to traveling by private vehicles.
Private vehicle found after waiting for hours – Shekhar Kumbhare
Shekhar Kumbhare, a resident of Bhadravati, while reacting to the strike of ST bus workers, said that he had to face a lot of difficulties to go to Gadchiroli recently. Vehicle was not available to go to Gadchiroli. After coming to Chandrapur, he had to travel by private vehicle. Due to this, he not only had to suffer financial loss but also had physical, mental problems. He along with his family had to wait for hours for a private vehicle.
Problem of daily earners – Mahesh Verma
Mahesh Verma, a resident of Ballarpur said that due to Chandrapur being the headquarters, he has to come here for work every day. Earlier it was easy to pass ST bus, now their financial budget has deteriorated due to paying fee many times more than ST bus fare every day. One has to pay exorbitant travel fare in small earnings.
Divyang heavy trouble – assuming God
Divyang Bhagwan Mankar, a resident of Ballarpur, working in a private firm in Padoli, says that he has to pay only nominal fare for traveling by ST bus. At the same time, there was a safe journey, but since the bus service is closed due to the strike, they have to face a lot of financial, physical and mental problems.
Trouble with wastage of time and money – Pranaykumar Bandi
Pranaykumar Bandi, the operator of Pranay Provision shop, resident of Ghugghus, said that he has to come to Chandrapur regularly to buy the material. Earlier, heavy goods could be easily reached by putting them in the bus, but now private vehicles have to pay the luggage along with the fare. Not getting a vehicle easily is a waste of time and money.
