Chandrapur. About 1280 villages of the state, including 3 lakh 75 thousand 254 farmers, have cleared the electricity bills of agricultural pumps by taking advantage of about 66 percent convenience in the amount of electricity bills outstanding since the years of agricultural pumps. Whereas all the farmers having electricity connection from 30 thousand 399 transformers have also cleared the arrears of the transformers by filling the entire dues. By filling 50 percent amount of current bill and revised dues till 31st March, the remaining entire outstanding bill will be waived.
The policy of electricity connection of agricultural pumps is being implemented with the provision of spending 66 percent amount in the filled agricultural bill for the local electricity machinery. As a result of this, 1280 villages including 3 lakh 75 thousand farmers have realized the dream of the arrears of electricity bills. So far 19 lakh 58 thousand 734 farmers have participated in the scheme for the release of arrears. In this, 2063 crore 43 lakh rupees have been filled. A total of Rs 6100 crore dues of farmers have been waived.
Till now, 3 lakh 75 thousand 254 farmers of the state have got rid of the entire arrears in the electricity bills of agricultural pumps. These farmers have paid a total amount of Rs 754 crore 58 lakh in the current bill and 50 percent of the revised arrear bill. They have got additional facility of delay size, interest, writing off and balance 50 dues i.e. 544 crore 32 lakh.
In this, 2 lakh 83 thousand 935 farmers of Nagpur Regional Department are included. Till next March, by filling 50 percent of the revised arrears and current bills, farmers should take advantage of the arrears of electricity bills of agricultural pumps, such a call has been made by Mahavitaran.
