- Nurses demand, training was stopped due to lockdown
Nagpur. Continuing medical education (credit points) has been made mandatory for renewal of registration of nurses working at government level. During the war with Corona, the focus was only on the treatment of patients. During these two years of Corona, due to the lockdown, the functioning of the Nursing Council was almost closed, but now the renewal of the registration of nurses can be done only on the basis of credit points. This strictly caused dissatisfaction among the nurses. In future, the nurses are also preparing to take up the weapon of the movement.
Nurses in the state have to renew their nursing registration every 5 years. For this it is mandatory to get credit points from Maharashtra Nursing Council. In the last two years, the Nursing Council was under a sort of undeclared ban due to the lockdown. Maharashtra State Nurses Association has sought relief for renewal of Nursing Registration 2022 across the state in view of the backdrop of Corona pandemic. In this regard, a memorandum has also been given by the Nursing Unions of Nagpur and Latur to the Maharashtra Nursing Council.
no problem with credit points
Nursing education is necessary for nurses, there is no objection to the nurses. But in the last 5 years nursing education was stopped. After that it was continued for 2 years. At that time the nurses had to face many problems and even completed them but at present the number of nurses in the state is less. This is putting additional work pressure on the working nurses. The council was also banned during the lockdown period. State vice-president of the association Shehzad Baba Khan and general secretary Sumitra Tote, the nurses have requested the Maharashtra Nursing Council to stop the renewal process for the time being and do it in future.
