Kashmir’s Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar said on Saturday that one of the three terrorists killed in the Anantnag encounter would be subjected to a DNA test as his photograph was involved in the 2019 Pulwama suicide attack. Kumar said the photograph of the slain terrorist matched that of top Jaish-e-Mohammed commander Samir Dar. The Inspector General of Police said on Twitter, “The picture of one of the terrorists killed in Anantnag encounter on December 30 matches that of top Jaish-e-Mohammed commander Samir Dar who was the last surviving terrorist involved in Lethpura, Pulwama terror attack. DNA test will be done.”
Three Jaish terrorists were killed and their bodies were recovered from the encounter site on Thursday in an encounter in Nowgam Dooru area of South Kashmir district, police had said.
