Ranchi : In Ranchi Collectorate today, Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Chhavi Ranjan reviewed various schemes related to food supply. District Supply Officer Albert Billung, all Assistant District Supply Officers, Marketing Officers and Block Supply Officers were present in the review meeting through virtual medium. In the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Chhavi Ranjan reviewed the progress of work on the instructions given in the last meeting and gave necessary directions to the officials.
In the meeting, the distribution of food grains allotted under the National Food Security Act for December 2021 and January 2022 was reviewed by the Deputy Commissioner. The Deputy Commissioner expressed displeasure over the distribution of 92.16 percent of the food grains of December 2021 and 80.98 percent of the food grains of January 2022 among the beneficiary.

While reviewing the block-wise distribution of food grains in January 2022, Deputy Commissioner Chhavi Ranjan said that 100% distribution of food grains should be ensured among the beneficiary in all the blocks. In Ormanjhi block, against the allocated food grains for the month of January, the Deputy Commissioner gave strict instructions on the least distribution of food grains among the beneficiaries and said that action would be taken if there is no 100% distribution by February 15.
Review of Sona-Sobran Dhoti, Lungi and Saree Distribution Scheme
The Sona-Sobran Dhoti-Sari scheme was also reviewed by the Deputy Commissioner during the meeting. For the financial year 2020-21, the time till 31 January 2022 was fixed to provide the benefits of the scheme to the eligible beneficiaries. Strict warning was given by the Deputy Commissioner for non-distribution of clothes among 100% beneficiaries. He said that the benefit of Sona-Sobran Dhoti-Sari Distribution Scheme for the financial year 2020-21 should be ensured to the eligible beneficiaries by February 15, 2022.
Instructions to ensure benefits to green ration card holders
Under the Jharkhand State Food Security Scheme, the online distribution report against the allocated food grains for the last month was also reviewed by the Deputy Commissioner. Strict instructions were given by the Deputy Commissioner to all the Assistant District Supply Officers / Marketing Officers / Block Supply Officers, Ranchi District that by printing the ration cards of the beneficiaries under the Jharkhand State Food Security Scheme, ensure that it is definitely distributed among the beneficiaries by February 15, 2022.
