Denmark Bars Johnson & Johnson Covid Vaccine: The European country Denmark has said on Monday that it will exclude Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine against the corona virus from its Vaccination Drive. The country has taken this decision expressing concern about the blood clotting disease. A similar step was also taken earlier on AstraZeneca Vaccine. The Health Authority here says that the European Medicine Agency (EMA) ‘concluded that there could be a possible link between rare cases of blood clotting and the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.’
However, both the EMA and the World Health Organization have also said that the benefits of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine far outweigh its dangers. Health officials said that given the current situation, he could carry out the vaccination campaign without the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Instead, only people will be vaccinated with Pfizer / Bioentech and Moderna. He also said that the benefits of this vaccine do not outweigh the dangers and there can be side effects in those taking it.
An epidemic is under control in the country
Officials said, “The massive campaign against the COVID-19 by the Danish Health Authority will go ahead without the Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccine.” He also said that the epidemic is under ‘control’ in the country and that the ‘vaccination campaign is proceeding without other available vaccines (Denmark Bars Johnson & Johnson Vaccine)’. But it is also being said that this decision of the government may delay the vaccination campaign.
How many people got vaccinated?
Earlier in mid-April, Denmark had also asked for the removal of AstraZeneca’s vaccine from the vaccination campaign. A month earlier this vaccine was also banned. Even at that time, concerns were raised about the cases of blood clotting. Denmark became the first country to have the vaccine completely removed from the program (Blood Clotting and Vaccines). However, the country says that it will re-evaluate both the vaccines. Here 11.5 percent of the population of 5.8 lakh people have got both vaccine doses, while 23.4 percent have got the first dose.
