New Delhi: Three people have been arrested for firing at people in the road rage incident at Angoori Bagh near the Red Fort area in North Delhi. Police said on Wednesday that three people were injured in the firing but their condition is now out of danger. The accused have been identified as Shahzada Farid (30), Shadab (31) and Shahbaz alias Badshah (30) and all residents of Chauhan Bangar, New Seelampur in North East Delhi, he said.
The incident took place on Monday night when Shahid was going home on a motorcycle with his wife and a scooter accidentally hit them. Two accused were riding on the scooter. When Shahid’s motorcycle suffered minor damage, he asked the accused to get it repaired and an argument broke out between them, police said. As the locals started gathering, Shadab took out his pistol and fired one shot in the air and four at the public.

He said that Abid, Aman and Dilfaraz suffered injuries in the leg, thigh and back in the incident and are undergoing treatment. Of these, Abid is Shahid’s brother. Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Sagar Singh Kalsi said that the accused have been booked under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act.
Our teams are conducting raids to nab the rest of the comrades. The DCP said that a country-made pistol, a mobile phone and two two-wheelers have been recovered from the accused. The incident was caught on CCTV cameras, which helped the police to identify the accused and trace the incident, he said. (agency)
