Delhi New Excise Policy: After the implementation of the new liquor policy in the national capital, many vendors are offering huge discounts on Indian and imported brands. According to the report, discounts ranging from 30 to 40 percent are being available on many Indian and foreign brands of liquor. Most of the retailers have reduced rates as compared to neighboring cities of Gurugram and Noida.
According to a report in Hindustan Times, liquor shops are adopting competitive pricing, which was not allowed in the previous excise regime. Few retailers in the national capital are offering foreign brands cheaper than Gurugram.
According to the report, some liquor stores in Delhi are selling a bottle of Chivas Regal (12 years) for Rs 1,890, while in Gurugram the same brand is being sold for Rs 2,150. So much so that Chivas Regal is available in Delhi for Rs 2,920 with a bumper discount of Rs 150 per bottle if you are buying this brand all three together.
Apart from this, Jack is selling Daniels for Rs 1,885 against the MRP of Rs 2,730. A premium brand like Glenlivet (18 Year Old Batch Reserve) (7000 ml) is being sold for Rs 5,115 with an MRP of Rs 7,415. Similarly, Absolut Vodka is selling for Rs 995 instead of the MRP of Rs 1,520.
Retailers are also offering huge discounts on wines in the national capital. For example, a bottle of Jacob Creek is being given to customers for just Rs 795 instead of 1,180. At the same time, Mateus Rose is available for Rs 1,230 instead of MRP of 1,700 and Chateau Puygueraud is available for Rs 4,980 against MRP 7,220.
Companies like Alco Mart and Nova Garments, which have at least 27 stores across Delhi, are offering 35% discount on their stock. Johnnie Walker Black Label is priced at Rs 1,935 as against Rs 2,980 for Johnnie Walker Black Label in these stores.
While Jack Daniel’s is available for Rs 1,775, Bombay Sapphire Gin for Rs 1,330, Absolut Vodka for Rs 985, Ballentine Finest for Rs 970 and Jagermeister for Rs 2,060.
Delhi’s new excise policy was implemented in November last year. According to news agency PTI, out of a total of 849 permitted shops, a total of 552 liquor shops have been opened in the national capital till January 28.
