New Delhi: Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel said on Wednesday that he has tested positive for COVID-19 after having mild symptoms and has self-isolated himself at home. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA has also requested people who came in contact with him to conduct an investigation.
Goyal tweeted, “My COVID test has come positive. My symptoms are mild. I have isolated myself at home. I urge everyone who came in contact with me in the last few days to get tested. Please be careful.” Officials said that some employees of Goyal’s office are also infected and are in isolation.

Before Goyal, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also tested positive earlier this month. In the report of Kejriwal’s investigation conducted on January 9, it was confirmed that he is free from infection. Last year in the wave of COVID-19 epidemic, most of the ministers of the state government including Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Health Minister Satyendar Jain, Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot and Environment Minister Gopal Rai were hit by COVID.
