Liquor vendors in Delhi have come up with a good news for the wine lovers in the national capital this new year. With the implementation of the new liquor policy by the state government, many vendors in the national capital are offering huge discounts on the prices of liquor. According to the report of CNN-News18, the new prices have been fixed for the Indian and imported brands. The discount on MRP of branded liquor ranges from 30 to 40 percent, as the new rule came into force in Delhi from November last year.
According to the report, most of the liquor vendors have cut the prices so that they can be sold at cheaper rates than the neighboring cities of Noida and Gurugram. This move by the liquor shops is the result of the new excise policy of the Delhi government, under which the seller can now reduce the prices of liquor to increase the demand, which was not allowed earlier.
According to the report, a bottle of foreign brand liquor Chivas Regal (12 Years) is being sold for Rs 1,890 at some shops in the national capital. Gurugram, on the other hand, sells the same bottle for Rs 2,150 and gets a discount of Rs 150 on a bottle if three bottles are taken together. According to the report, the MRP of Chivas Regal in Delhi is Rs 2,920.
Whiskey Theka, a liquor store operated by JSN Infratech LLP is offering a bottle of premium alcohol brand Jack Daniels for Rs 1,885. The MRP of the same is Rs 2,730 in Delhi. According to the report, another premium brand, GlenLive (18 years old batch reserve) is being sold for Rs 5,115 for a 700ml bottle. This is well below the MRP of Rs 7,415.
Vodka prices in the national capital have also come down under the new excise policy. Absolut Vodka is now selling for Rs 995 in Delhi, while the MRP is Rs 1,520, which is a discount of around 30 percent.
Many liquor retailers in Delhi are also offering huge discounts on the prices of liquor. For example, a bottle of Jacob’s Creek costs Rs 795 in Delhi against an MRP of Rs 1,180. The report states that Chateau Puygueraud is being sold for Rs 4,980, which is much less than the MRP of Rs 7,220.
According to reports, popular companies like Alco Mart and Nova Garments are offering 35 per cent discount on their stocks. These retailers have at least 27 stores in various parts of Delhi.
The report said, “Here Jack Daniels for Rs 1,775, Absolute Vodka at Rs 985, Jacob Creek at Rs 765, Ballantine’s Finest at Rs 970 instead of MRP 1,490, Johnnie Walker Black Label at Rs 1,935 against MRP of Rs 2,980, Bombay Sapphire Jin is getting Rs 1,330 instead of MRP 2,050 and Jaegermeister for Rs 2,060 instead of 3,170 MRP.
