In the case of cooking meat by hunting deer in the Chondi forest complex near Bhidi of Devli tehsil, 4 accused were given 7 days forest custody while the 5th accused absconding in this case was arrested by the forest department from Yavatmal late on Saturday night. There has been an uproar in the district after two cases came to light in a week.
Vishweshwar Sontakke, Nagsinh Waghmare, Ranjeet Tamte and Surendra Waghmare, residents of Chondi, were taken into custody while having a banquet party after cooking deer meat in Bhidi’s Chondi complex. The four accused, who managed to escape, were given a seven-day forest custody after being produced in the Pulgaon court. On the basis of the interrogation on the first day, important information came to the hands of the forest department.
Help of cyber police
In search of the absconding accused, the Forest Department took the help of cyber police, on the basis of this, the fifth accused Vinod Deotale was arrested from Yavatmal late on Saturday night. Vinod is a resident of Bhari of Yavatmal district. In the deer hunting case, the number of accused has gone up to 5, the Forest Department has confiscated Sattur, ax and other materials used for cutting meat from the accused. Further investigation is being done by Forest Range Officer Rupesh Khedkar under the guidance of Deputy Forest Conservator Rakesh Sept.
The female deer was pregnant!
According to forest department sources, the age of the hunted deer was said to be around two years, it has come to the notice of being pregnant as well as being a female deer.
