The Congress Working Committee (CWC), acknowledging the lapses in the context of the recent Assembly elections defeat and expressing serious concern over the outcome, decided to organize a Chintan Shivir soon, to chalk out the way forward. In this marathon meeting, which lasted for about four hours, it has been decided that Sonia Gandhi will continue to be the interim president of the Congress till the completion of the organizational elections.
Party’s organization general secretary KC Venugopal said that the CWC expressed confidence in the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and urged her to make necessary changes to strengthen the party. He said that a ‘Chintan Shivir’ would be organized immediately after the budget session of Parliament.

Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said that every leader reposed faith in the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and urged her to continue as the president till the organizational elections are over. He said that in the meeting the in-charges and senior leaders of each election state presented the report before the CWC.
