Department of Posts and India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) digital payment app DakPay was launched during a virtual event. This app is part of the effort to provide digital financial services to people living in remote areas of the country. It was inaugurated by Communications and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Tuesday. Postpay is not only a digital payment app, but India Post and IPPB customers will now be able to use digital financial and banking services.

- Through this app, you will be able to send money and digital services can be paid to the services and merchants.
- You can also send money by scanning the QR code through the postpay app.
- Apart from this, banking services can be availed with any bank of the country through this app i.e. this app provides intoperable services.
Order for postal product can be done sitting at home
On the occasion of its launch, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that Dakpay has further enriched the legacy of India Post. Through this app, people will not only ensure online access to banking services and postal products, but any person can order online postal financial services and get it at home. Postal Secretary and IPPB Board Chairman Pradeep Kumar Bisoi says that postpay is a completely Indian solution to meet the financial needs of every Indian.
PM Modi started IPPB in 2018
The IPPB has been established under the Department of Posts of the Ministry of Telecommunications. The Government of India holds 100 percent stake in it. IPPB was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 1 September 2018. The main objective of the establishment of the bank was to provide affordable and reliable bank facilities to the common citizens of the country. At present there are 1.55 lakh post offices across the country out of which 1.35 lakh are in villages and 3 lakh employees are employed in it.
