The IMD said in a tweet, “During the next six hours, the center of depression remains in Telangana and adjoining areas of Marathwada and Vidarbha.” The National Disaster Response Force said that a team of NDRF is being deployed at Osmanabad in Maharashtra.
According to Hindustan Times, the India Meteorological Department has not ruled out the possibility that another cyclone Shaheen may now form over the Arabian Sea from the remnants of Cyclone Gulab.
The weather system developed due to Cyclone Gulab is likely to emerge over northeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Gujarat coast around Thursday evening and intensify further over northeast Arabian Sea.
The IMD has said in its weather forecast that heavy to very heavy rain and heavy rains are very likely at isolated places over Gujarat region, central Maharashtra and Konkan and Goa.
