Companies reduced the price of the third dose
Serum Institute of India (SII) and Bharat Biotech, two giant companies making corona vaccine, have cut the price of precaution dosage. Yesterday i.e. on Saturday, Serum Institute said that after talks with the government, they have decided to reduce the price of precaution dose of vaccine for private hospitals to Rs 225 per dose. The company had earlier kept its price at Rs 600. Similarly, Bharat Biotech has also reduced the prices of the vaccine. The company’s co-founder Joint MD Suchitra Illa said that after talks with the central government, it has been decided to reduce the price of booster dose of Covaccine from Rs 1200 to Rs 225 per dose.

Terms and Conditions for Third Dose
- If you are above 18 years of age then you are eligible for this third dose. However, for this it is necessary that at least 9 months have passed since you got the second dose of the vaccine.
- The third dose of the vaccine should be from the same manufacturer who made the first two doses. This means that if you had taken Covaccine before, then you will have to take this vaccine. Similarly, if you had installed a covershield earlier, then you will have to get it installed again.
- The Union Health Ministry has said that re-registration will not be required for the third dose, as you are already registered on the CoWIN platform. But all private vaccination centers will have to compulsorily register all vaccinations on the CoWIN platform.
- Health workers, frontline workers and citizens of 60 years and above will continue to receive preventive doses at immunization centers including free vaccinations at government immunization centres.
- The cost of Coveshield and Covaccine has been kept at Rs 225 as the third dose.
- The government has said that private immunization centers can charge only up to a maximum of Rs 150 as service charge for vaccination.
