Covid-19 Vaccine After Recovery: Vaccination work is going on throughout the country to defeat the corona virus. Meanwhile, the policies of the vaccine are also changing. This question is being raised again and again that if a patient recovers from the corona, then after how many days should he get the vaccine. Meanwhile, the National Technical Advisory Group (NTAGI) has recommended that those who have recovered from COVID-19, should get the COVID vaccine after 9 months of recovery. Prior to this, NTAGI suggested that patients recovering from coronap be vaccinated at an interval of 6 months.
The decision was taken by NTAGI when the advisory panel recommended increasing the difference between the two doses of Covishield to 12–16 weeks. There was a difference of four to 8 weeks between the first two doses of Kovishield. It is believed that the expert panel looked at both national and international data to review the timeframe so that no one is at risk of being infected again.
Tips given facts
Such a suggestion has been made in view of the facts from the expert group. During the first wave of Corona in India, the rate of reinfection was up to 4.5 per cent, during which a difference of 102 days was observed. At the same time, in some countries, the study has found that after the corona infection, immunity can remain up to 6 months, so this much time is necessary. However, when the corona epidemic is still continuing, there is a possibility of reinfection. In such a situation, if one has to wait for the first or second dose, it can also be beneficial.
Corona after the first dose
NTAGI had earlier said that those who received the first dose of vaccine and became corona infected before the second dose should wait 4 to 8 weeks after recovering from the infection. It was suggested that patients who were given monoclonal antibodies or convulsant plasma may undergo vaccination 3 months from the day of discharge.
Will help to increase antibodies
The panel has said that increasing the difference between an infection and getting the first dose can help to increase the antibody further. The panel has also suggested that pregnant and lactating women should be considered eligible for vaccination. The Health Ministry will take a decision on this matter in a couple of days. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), a six-month gap between recovery from corona and the first dose of covid vaccine is safe.
