Covid-19 Vaccination: The world’s most Covid-19 vaccination program has started in India from January 16 and so far more than 33 lakh healthcare workers have been vaccinated this month. Now the central government has issued a directive to all states to vaccinate the frontline workers along with the remaining health workers in the first week of February. The Indian Express quoted health ministry officials as saying that the Co-Win system developed by the government has stabilized, that is, the number of registered people is increasing at a steady pace. 5.2 lakh vaccines were administered on Friday 29 January and the government hopes that today on Saturday, 30 January, it will cross the 5 lakh mark. According to officials, the co-win system has become stable and adequate vaccine is available, so the government is ready to vaccinate others.
2 crore frontline workers will be vaccinated
According to the more senior official of the Ministry of Health, health workers and frontline workers will be called for vaccination simultaneously. The Health Ministry has told all the states that Covaxin and Covishield stocks will be sent soon. According to the government’s estimate, about 2 crore frontline workers will be vaccinated with the Corona vaccine. The frontline workers are armed forces, policemen, disaster management volunteers, home guards and civil defence organizations, jail personnel and municipal personnel.
Database of frontline workers will be uploaded on Co-Win
Just as a list of multiple people (bulk benefit) was created on the Co-Win platform to vaccinate healthcare workers, a database of frontline workers will be created on the app. Dr. Manohar Agani, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare informed that the State / UT are uploading a database of frontline workers on the app with the help of the concerned ministries and till date a database of over 61 lakh workers has been uploaded. According to Agnani, the government has requested all the states to direct the concerned officials to make necessary preparations.
