Three clinical trials between April 2020 and March 2021
- The trial of the first phase of the drug was completed in April-May 2020. In this, experiments were done on the drug in the lab.
- DCGI approved the second phase of clinical trial between May 2020 and October 2020. In the second phase clinical trial, 110 patients admitted in 11 hospitals of the country were included. Patients involved in the trial recovered 2.5 days earlier than other patients.
- In November 2020, DRDO applied for the clinical trial of Phase III of the drug. For this, the trial was approved from December 2020 to March 2021. In this phase, the drug was tested on 220 patients in 27 hospitals located in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. This test found that 42% of the patients using 2-DG did not need medical oxygen from the third day, whereas only 31 of the patients who were not given this medicine, ended their dependence on medical oxygen from the third day. Hui. The drug also showed similar effects on the elderly over 65 years of age.
