Study done on 51 people
This study was done on 51 people who had received both doses of Covaccine six months ago. The third dose was administered to her on the 215th day after the second dose and its effect was studied against the Omicron variant. The study was conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and covaccine maker Bharat Biotech in January and its results were published on March 24 in the Journal of Travel Medicine. According to Dr Gajanan Sakpal, Scientist of the Institute of Virology, strong antibodies developed against B.1 and the variant of concern- Delta, Beta and Omicron variants after the booster dose.

That is, if you have got the second dose of the vaccine recently or it has not completed nine months, then you do not have to get the booster dose yet. This facility is being made available at all private immunization centers, which means that the third dose will not be given free of cost. So far, the third dose of the vaccine has been administered to health workers, frontline workers and more than 6.4 crore people aged 60 years and above.
