Mumbai: Corona Virus has plagued people for the last 21 months. Corona has created an uproar even in 4 mental hospitals of the state where only mental patients are kept. There are total 4 such mental hospitals in the state namely Thane, Pune, Nagpur and Ratnagiri. Where thousands of patients live. Usually, only a select number of relatives are allowed in this hospital to see or meet the patient, but in view of the lockdown and the threat of COVID, this number is even less. Despite this, the virus reached the hospital and by September, a total of one thousand patients and staff were affected by it.
Started treatment by making isolation ward in the hospital itself
Thane Mental Hospital’s Superintendent Dr. Sanjay Bodade said that sometimes some unclaimed patients are left with us by the police or other persons, in some patients, COVID has been confirmed, then the other reason can also be that from the hospital staff. Some may have spread the infection as they continue to travel from home to hospital and from hospital to home. Dr. Fadnavis, Superintendent of Pune Mental Hospital said that despite following the COVID protocol, some patients got infected with the virus, initially we used to shift them to another hospital for treatment, but later the shortage of beds increased, after which we He started his treatment by making an isolation ward in the hospital itself.

There are thousands of patients in hospitals, yet the number of infected is low. Has happened.

Don’t know about mental hospital, but usually patients suffering from mental illness do not follow covid rules. They do not understand that much, do not give them masks, do not wear masks, do not wash their hands, this is often a complaint from the family, in such a situation, the risk of infection is slightly higher in them. Such patients should understand the family and understand their mental state themselves. Contact the doctors and continue their treatment.
