The maximum number of cases are in Maharashtra, where 108 cases of this variant have been reported. So far 79 cases have been found in Delhi. 43 cases have been found in Gujarat, 38 in Telangana, 37 in Kerala and 34 in Tamil Nadu. For the last few days, the pace of spreading of corona virus has increased as its positive cases are increasing in Delhi and Maharashtra. In the last 24 hours, 7189 new cases of corona infection have been reported across the country. During this 387 people have died.

However, during this time there will be exemption on the movement of essential services and people working in them. The government has taken this step to reduce the crowd in the events during New Year and Christmas. Elections are near in UP. Because of this rallies and meetings are being held. The Allahabad High Court has asked to consider extending the date of UP elections in view of the danger of Omicron variant. But the Chief Election Commissioner has said that a decision will be taken on this after a week.
