He said, ‘The incident that happened in Bangalore with the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj should be thoroughly investigated. Do not ignore this type of incident. It is unfortunate that Marathi brothers are being persecuted in Karnataka for the last many years and now the incident of desecrating our deity like Shivaraya is happening and the government there is turning a blind eye to it.”
Uddhav Thackeray said that, recently in his speech at Kashi Vishweshwar temple in Varanasi, PM Narendra Modi had said that whenever there was an attempt to crush the culture of the country. Then powerful kings like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj were born. This thing has not happened for a few days and it is very condemnable and degrading to have such an incident in a BJP ruled state. Where efforts are being made to suppress the voice of Marathi people without taking any action.
