Dehradun. Uttarakhand Congress on Sunday said that from December 18, the party will launch a continuous state-wide agitation on the burning questions of rising unemployment, inflation, illegal mining and corruption. Congress General Secretary and former Chief Minister of the state Harish Rawat said in a press conference here that after consultation with the state party president Ganesh Godiyal and other leaders, it has been decided that on different days from December 18, it has been decided to discuss these four burning questions. Will go in between and start a movement.
He said that the Congress Legislature Party will take forward the pressure created by the Congress Legislature Party on these four challenges during the winter session of the State Legislative Assembly on Saturday.
State’s election campaign committee chairman Rawat criticized the BJP government for ignoring the demands of various workers’ unions agitating in the state and said the Congress would solve their problems if voted to power. He said that the party would constitute a committee for this which would meet these organizations to know their problems and find their solution.
He said that the party has also prepared a list of agitating organizations. Godiyal, who was present at the press conference, accused the state government of being deeply engrossed in corruption and said the government was doing scams in the process of purchasing tablets distributed to students, purchase of medical equipment and mining. Significantly, the assembly elections in Uttarakhand are due early next year. (agency)
