New Delhi. The Congress on Thursday released the second list of 41 candidates for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, which includes 16 women candidates. In the second list released by the party, like the first list, the share of women candidates is 40 percent. Earlier, on January 13, the party had released the first list of 125 candidates and 50 women were given tickets in it.
Congress general secretary and party in-charge of Uttar Pradesh, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, while launching the ‘Girl Hoon, Lad Sakti Hoon’ campaign a few months ago, announced that 40 percent tickets in the assembly elections would be given to women. According to the second list released by the Congress, Sukhwinder Kaur from Saharanpur Nagar, Yasmin Rana from Charthawal (Muzaffarnagar), Salma Agha Ansari from Thakurdwara (Moradabad), Kalpana Singh from Bilari (Moradabad), Mithilesh from Chandausi (Sambhal), Sahibabad ( Sangeeta Tyagi from Ghaziabad), Neeraj Kumari Prajapati from Modi Nagar (Ghaziabad) and Bhavna Valmiki from Hapur have been nominated.
Apart from these, Poonam Pandit from Sayana assembly seat (Bulandshahr), Sunita Sharma from Dibai (Bulandshahr), Monika Suryavanshi from Khair (Aligarh), Preeti Dhangar from Iglas (Hathras), Poonam Devi from Chhath (Mathura), Mant (Mathura) Tickets have been given to Suman Chaudhary, Usha Gangwar from Nawabganj (Bareilly) and Priyanka Jaiswal from Akbarpur. Along with these 16 women candidates, Congress has nominated people from different sections in its second list.
Congress has nominated Haji Akhlaq from Kairana, Satya Shyam Saini from Thana Bhawan, Devendra Kashyap from Budhana, Ayub Jung from Shamli, Subodh Sharma from Muzaffarnagar, Deepak Kumar from Purkaji, Anil Dev Tyagi from Baghpat, Sikandar Valmiki from Agra Cantt and Munna Singh from Katra. has been made a candidate.
On the question of giving a large number of tickets to women, Priyanka Gandhi had said on Thursday, “When we started talking about women, all parties started making announcements. BJP, SP, RLD, BSP all made announcements. Our success is that women can no longer be ignored.” The Uttar Pradesh assembly elections will be held in seven phases. The first phase of polling will be held on February 10 and the seventh and last phase of polling will be held on March 7. The results will be declared on March 10.
