Pimpri: Under Pimpri-Chinchwad Smart City, a project called “Community Level Composting” will be implemented for the processing of waste and wet waste in the municipal parks. This project will process 100 kg of wet waste per day to make fertilizer. Earth Care Equipment Pvt Ltd has been appointed for implementation of two community level composting projects in ABD area as part of Smart City plan. For this an estimated expenditure of Rs.27 lakh has been approved.
The 16th meeting of the Board of Directors of Pimpri-Chinchwad Smart City Limited was held under the chairmanship of Smart City Office, Auto Cluster, Chinchwad Mayor and Director Usha alias Mai Dhore. It includes Chief Executive Officer and Commissioner Rajesh Patil, Ruling Party Leader and Director Namdev Dhake, Chief Executive Officer and Commissioner of Police Krishna Prakash, Director Sachin Richikhale, Independent Director Pradeep Kumar Bhargava, Co-Chief Executive Officer (ABD) Rajan Patil, Co-Chief Executive Officer (PAN) City) Nilkanth Poman, Chief Financial Officer Sunil Bhosale, Company Secretary Chitra Panwar, General Manager Infra Ashok Bhalkar, Executive Engineer Manoj Sethia, Assistant Chief Executive Officer Laxmikant Kolhe, Central Secretary Mamta Batra, Independent Director Yashwant Bhave were present.
The project will be implemented in two parks
The Mayor said that on a pilot basis, the project “Community Level Composting” would be implemented in two parks of Pimpri-Chinchwad. After this this project will be implemented in all the parks of the corporation. Development works have expanded under Smart City. This work is being done as per the suggestion of the Central Government and some works are on the verge of completion. Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, many development works came to a standstill at one place. He said that this has had an impact on the ongoing development works under the Smart City, which will be completed soon and will be open to the public and administration.

A total of 14 issues were discussed and approved in the agenda of the meeting. It extended the life of E&Y LLP under Information and Communication Technology for Smart Cities. Discussed and approved with Tech Mahindra for City Network and Other Smart Elements Project (RFP-2), M&A for L&T, Integrated Command Center (ICCC) and Other Smart Element Project (RFP-3) expansion. This was approved by a separate tender process for smart city projects (RFP2 and RFP3) in which estimates and provisions for electrical infrastructure for the supply of electricity to various smart components were discussed. In addition, various topics were discussed in the meeting.
