Kolkata: West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee’s party TMC seems to be moving towards victory in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) elections 2021. Counting of votes for the 144 wards of Kolkata began on Tuesday morning. According to the State Election Commission data, TMC is getting a steady lead. At the same time, other parties including BJP and Congress are far behind according to the figures. Meanwhile, TMC workers are seen celebrating outside Mamta Banerjee’s house before the official announcement.
According to ANI, according to the official trends of West Bengal State Election Commission in Kolkata Municipal Corporation elections, TMC is ahead on 114, BJP on 2, CPI(M) on 2, Congress on 2 and Independents on 1. The ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) had already gained a lead in six major wards in early trends. Actually, the counting of votes had started from 8 am. According to the initial trends, TMC seems to be getting an edge in many wards. TMC has got early lead in 6 major ward numbers 23, 11, 31, 2, 4 and 7 of the area.
