- Action of Chamorshi Forest Range Office
Chamorshi, On the basis of secret information about the hunting of wild animal, the forest workers, after investigating the open space of a house in Ravindrapur, caused a stir when the incident of the recovery of chital meat, head, legs and other literature came to light on 14 January. In this case, two accused, Khirod Punya Biswas and Pijush Punya Biswas, residents of Ravindrapur, have been arrested.
According to the information received, forest workers got secret information about hunting Chital and keeping meat secret in Amrapali’s Ravindrapur, the fixed area of Jamgiri sub-region under Chamorshi forest area. On the basis of the above information, under the guidance of Forest Range Officer Praveen Lele, the forest staff of Jamgiri sub-region investigated the open space behind the house of Khirod Biswas of Ravindrapur.
During this, the meat of chital, head, legs and 3 iron satturs were recovered from there. In this case, after taking Khirod Biswas and Pijush Biswas into custody, they confessed to hunting Chital and keeping it in an open space behind the house to eat and sell its meat. A forest offense was registered against both the accused and arrested.
Judicial custody till January 29
On production of both the accused in the court on January 15, the court has given judicial custody to the accused till January 29. Under the guidance of Deputy Forest Conservator Rahul Singh Tolia, Wood Removal Officer Pradeep Budhanwar, the area assistant S. H. Govardhan, R. M. Narule, Forest Guard R. R. Wasekar, DM Kumre, B. D. Nagose, Nikhil Gawade, Anand Sakhre, Vitthal Meshram, Kailas Naitam, Joshila Nimsarkar, driver Deepak Dudhbavre, Van Mazdoor Ishwar Janbandhu etc. are doing forest workers.
