new Delhi. According to a big news, this morning the Indian Navy has successfully tested the long-range precision strike capability of the upgraded version of the BrahMos missile. Simultaneously, today this superb missile made an excellent display of combat readiness and mission of frontline platforms by hitting the target with pin point. Before this, the Navy had conducted a test firing of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile on February 18 in Visakhapatnam.
In this regard, the Navy today shared on Twitter the video of the test firing of the upgraded version of the BrahMos missile, writing that “The long-range precision strike capability of the upgraded version of the BrahMos missile has been successfully validated. It was another shot for a self-reliant India.” Defense sources also said that this time new and advanced technology was used in this BrahMos missile, which has been completely successful.

At the same time, according to some sources of DRDO, the detailed data obtained from the test conducted with new additional technologies including control system in this BrahMos missile is now being analyzed. This advanced missile fired the sea-to-sea version of the missile with perfect accuracy on the intended target. Significantly, the BrahMos missile is being manufactured under a joint venture between India and Russia. In which DRDO represents India.
It is worth noting that the Navy had earlier conducted test firing of BrahMos supersonic cruise missile on February 18 in Visakhapatnam. After which this warship has been parked at Visakhapatnam port. Let us inform that INS Visakhapatnam is the latest warship of the recently inducted Indian Navy. Earlier on January 11, the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile was successfully test fired from the Indian Navy’s INS Visakhapatnam warship.
The BrahMos is the main weapon system of warships of the Indian Navy and is deployed on almost all its surface platforms. Along with this, now an underwater version of it is also being developed.
