73rd Republic Day: On the occasion of the 73rd Republic Day, talks were held on the hotline between the Indian Army and the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China on Wednesday. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said that the Chinese troops have given a positive response to the release of a 17-year-old teenager who went missing from the Indo-China International Border adjoining Arunachal Pradesh. He said the 17-year-old teenager from Arunachal Pradesh would be handed over to India soon.
Kiren Rijiju said that the date and time information can be received from the Chinese side regarding the release of Kishor soon. The Union Minister said that the Indian Army was in touch with the Chinese PLA through a hotline on Republic Day. The PLA responded positively and indicated the handing over of our youth and suggested the place of release. They are likely to announce the date and time soon.
BJP MP from Arunachal Pradesh Tapir Gao accused the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China of abducting this Indian youth by entering Arunachal Pradesh in India on January 19. Gao said the People’s Liberation Army of China abducted a 17-year-old teenager from Upper Siang district of Indian territory in the state.
Gao said the kidnapped teenager has been identified as Miram Tarom. He said that the Chinese army kidnapped the teenager from Lungta Jor area of Seungla area. The MP said the incident took place near the place where the Shiang river enters India in Arunachal Pradesh.
He also shared the picture of the kidnapped juvenile along with the tweet and said that all the agencies of the Government of India are requested to ensure the early release of the juvenile. Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday said that India has shared details of a missing teenager from Arunachal Pradesh with the PLA to confirm the identity of the youth in his custody.
He said the Chinese side had informed the Indian Army on January 20 that they had found a juvenile on their side and requested for details to establish his identity. Rijiju said in a statement on the Ku app that to help the Chinese side in verifying the identity, the Indian Army has shared his personal details and photographs with the Chinese side. A response from the Chinese side is awaited.
Rijiju said that since the juvenile was missing from the area near the Line of Actual Control (LAC), the Chinese side had assured that they would trace the juvenile and return him as per established protocol. Various Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, had targeted the Narendra Modi government over the disappearance of the teenager from Arunachal Pradesh.
