In this district with a population of about 18 lakh people, these coupons are available only to those who have taken both doses of COVID-19 vaccine. The coupon is available on fulfilling certain conditions, which range in price from 8 yuan ($ 1.23) to 30 yuan. Information has been given on social media that these coupons can be used in supermarkets in Daxing district. According to the Communist Party newspaper Beijing Daily, more than 200 million yuan ($ 30.7 million) discount has been given through coupons. However, some people have also expressed concern about the coupon on social media.
People are expressing their displeasure
A person on China’s social media platform Weibo, such as Twitter, wrote, “Motivating people to get the vaccine done in this way will reduce their trust in the vaccine.” According to the newspaper, more than 73 percent of people aged 18 years and over have received at least one dose of vaccine in Daxing. According to official figures released on Wednesday, the daily production of vaccine in China has also reached 5 million doses. Which was 1.5 million doses on 1 February.
82.84 million doses were applied
According to local media website Chine Daily, 82.84 million doses of the vaccine have been applied in China till Tuesday. This figure was 74.96 million doses as of Saturday. China’s pharmaceutical company Sinopharm can expand its annual COVID-19 vaccine product to 1 billion doses. With this, another company CanSino Biologics can produce from two to 2.5 billion doses.
