Chandigarh. Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi said on Monday that he would talk to his brother Manohar Singh, who was upset over not getting a Congress ticket. Channi’s reaction has come after Manohar Singh had said on Sunday that he would contest against the Congress candidate from Bassi Pathana assembly seat as an independent candidate. Singh was hoping for a Congress ticket from the Bassi Pathana assembly seat.
Congress in its first list of 86 candidates on Saturday gave ticket to party MLA Gurpreet Singh GP from Bassi Pathana (reserved) seat. Channi indicated that he would try to talk to his brother about not contesting against Gurpreet, sitting Congress MLA and candidate.
Channi told reporters here, “He wanted the ticket but the party refused. Gurpreet is also our brother. We will sit them down and talk and the issue will be resolved.”
