Mumbai: In the trains of Central Railway, passengers are liking the Vistadome coach. Be it the scenic views of the valleys, rivers and waterfalls on the Mumbai-Goa route or the natural beauty of the Western Ghats along the Mumbai-Pune route. These coaches with glass roof tops and wide window panes in the Vistadome have proved to be a hit.
Central Railway has earned an income of Rs 2.38 crore between October and December-2021. During this, 20,407 passengers have been transported. CSMT-Madgaon-CSMMT Janshatabdi Express is leading with 100% passengers i.e. 7,754 passengers with a revenue of Rs.1.40 crores. CSMT-Pune Deccan Express has received 90.43% 50.96 Lakh from 7,185 passengers. With 5,468 passengers, an earning of Rs 46.30 lakh has been earned from Deccan Queen. Deccan Queen Up Direction i.e. Pune to Mumbai has proved to be more popular with 94.28 percent occupancy.

Vistadome coaches were first fitted in the Mumbai-Madgaon Janshatabdi Express in 2018. Due to the growing popularity, these coaches were introduced in Mumbai-Pune Deccan Express from 26 June. In view of the huge demand of passengers, second Vistadome coach on Mumbai-Pune route was added to Deccan Queen from 15th August. Vistadome coaches, apart from glass roofs, have many other features such as wide window panes, LED lights, rotatable seats and pushback chairs, GPS based information system, television screen, electrically operated automatic sliding compartment doors, wide side sliding doors for differently abled, Toilet and Weaving Gallery with Ceramic Tile Floors. The Vistadome Coach at Deccan Queen has been renovated and decorated by Matunga Workshop of Central Railway. Vistadome coaches are promoting tourism.
