A 44-year-old Centerville man died Friday after he was ejected from the van he was using in after a automobile making an attempt to keep away from a collision swerved into the automobile, state police stated.
First responders declared Valkisergio Costa Silva lifeless on the scene of the crash, which began when a GMC Acadia SUV “suddenly and rapidly decelerated and came to a stop” on I-95 in Topsfield, in response to police.
A Chevrolet Impala driving behind the SUV tried to keep away from hitting the Acadia, swearing left in direction of the grass median. The Impala bumped into the Chevrolet Express Van Costa Silva was using in, inflicting the van to go away the highway, slide throughout the grass median and roll over.
Costa Silva was ejected from the van because it rolled over together with a 30-year-old passenger who was later taken to Boston Medical Center with “serious life-threatening injuries,” in response to police.
A 3rd passenger within the van and the motive force have been each taken to close by hospitals.
“Following the crash of the other two vehicles, the Acadia pulled over to the breakdown lane,” state police stated. “The two male occupants of the Acadia subsequently fled on foot into the adjacent woods, prompting an extensive search by numerous patrol troopers.”
State police recognized one of many males who fled from the Acadia as 30-year-old David Guzman of Lynn. He was charged with interfering with a police officer and booked at a close-by state police barracks.
The second male from the Acadia was final seen operating throughout the golf course of the Ferncroft Country Club. Police described him as a Hispanic male sporting a grey t-shirt.
