Ahmedabad. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said the centers of faith of the Hindu community were humiliated for many years and no one cared to restore their pride till the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government came to power in 2014. The Modi government is now working “fearlessly” to renovate such sites. He said that earlier people used to shy away from going to temples, but with the Modi government a new era has started.
Shah was speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of Umiyadham temple dedicated to Goddess ‘Maa Umiya’ of the Kadva Patidar sect here. This temple and other buildings are being built on 74 thousand square yards of land at a cost of 1500 crores. Addressing a gathering, he said, “For many years, the centers of faith of the Hindu community were humiliated, and till the Modi government came to power at the Center with an absolute majority, no one tried to restore the glory. Didn’t take the initiative.”
Shah said, “Today, when the foundation stone of a grand temple is being laid by Arya Samaji (Gujarat Governor) Acharya Devvrat, on such an occasion, I would like to say that Modiji has worked for the restoration of our forgotten centers of faith and faith. Have acted fearlessly and with confidence and respect.”
He said the prime minister unveiled the statue of Adi Shankaracharya and revived the faith center of crores of Hindus in the Kedarnath temple area devastated by the flash floods of 2013.

“We will see the restoration of Kashi Vishwanath temple, which was demolished during Aurangzeb’s time, on 13th December by the hands of Prime Minister Narendrabhai,” he said.
Shah said that the temples have not only been centers of religious faith, but they are also the centers of social service and energy for the disillusioned with life to overcome their difficulties and move forward. On this occasion, the BJP leader praised the Patidar community and said that the history of the upliftment of Gujarat and the country is related to this community.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, former Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, Governor Acharya Devvrat and others took part in the program on the first day of the three-day foundation stone laying ceremony.
