It is worth noting that till now bank customers are not charged any fee for withdrawing money from their ATMs five times every month. But then the bank charges Rs 20 per transaction for withdrawing money after the free withdrawal limit is over. But friends, now from January 1 for the sixth time, you will have to pay Rs 21 plus tax on withdrawal of money. However, all non-financial transactions will remain free, from balance checking to mini statement or changing PIN.
How much was the charge till now?
Be aware that at present, the first 3 transactions, which include financial and non-financial transactions, are absolutely free on withdrawal of money from other bank’s ATMs in 6 metro cities (Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Hyderabad). Customers do not have to pay any charges.
At the same time, in other non-metro cities, you can do 5 ATM transactions for free. After this, Rs 20 per transaction and Rs 8 for financial transactions in metro cities. You have to pay Rs 50 as a non-financial transaction.
Fees to be charged from January 1
But now bank customers will get Rs 21 per transaction and 8 for financial transaction after 5th transaction after new rates are implemented from January 1. 50 rupees will have to be paid for non-financial transactions. It is to be known that in June this year, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had also given necessary permission to banks to charge more for withdrawing money or doing other transactions more than the fixed free monthly limit through ATMs.
At the same time, according to the circular of RBI issued on June 10, banks have to compensate the charges for using the card in ATMs of other banks and in view of the increase in other costs, they will have to pay per transaction. Permission was also given to increase the charge.
