Cape Cod bridge upkeep work and 24/7 lane closures can be returning a few weeks after Labor Day, as officers warn motorists of journey delays by way of November.
After crews labored on the Sagamore Bridge within the spring, employees can be shifting to the Bourne Bridge for vital upkeep work beginning on Sept. 18, in line with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District.
Vehicle journey over the bridge can be minimize from the present two lanes in every path to a single 12-foot-wide lane in every path. Lane restrictions can be in place 24 hours a day till the undertaking is accomplished.
“Motorists planning to use the Bourne Bridge should expect travel delays likely to occur during the morning and afternoon peak travel periods each day,” the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers stated in an announcement.
