A Boston lady was killed by a shark whereas paddleboarding within the Bahamas on Monday, in line with police.
The lady was paddleboarding on the Sandals resort, about three-quarters of a mile from shore when she was bitten by a shark, police stated at a press convention. She was paddleboarding with a male family member.
After she was bitten by the shark, a lifeguard went out in a rescue boat and retrieved each the girl and her male family member.
“CPR was administered to the victim; however, she suffered serious injuries to the right side of her body, including the right hip region and also her right upper limb,” a Royal Bahamas Police Force officer stated from the scene.
Emergency medical providers responded and “thoroughly assessed” the sufferer.
“They declared that she showed no vital signs of life,” the police consultant stated.
The lady was in her 40s and from Boston, ABC News reported.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic passing of a guest while on a paddleboarding activity nearly a mile from the shore,” Sandals Resorts stated in an announcement.
“We wish to express our heartfelt condolences to the guest’s family and loved ones,” the resort added. “We remain in close contact with them and are providing all support possible during this difficult time. Out of respect for our guests’ privacy and confidentiality, we cannot share further information at this time.”
Royal Bahamas Police Force didn’t instantly reply for additional remark.
