Gondia, To ensure timely supply of blood to the needy patients, the Public Health Department of the State Government had started this scheme, Blood on Call i.e. Jeevan Amrit Seva. This service is currently being implemented through a private agency, in which many needy beneficiaries are being supplied with blood on time.
Due to which the patients and their families do not have to run, but the state government has decided to stop this scheme by the end of March 2022. Due to which the officers and employees working under this scheme will be relieved. Not only this, due to the closure of the said scheme, it will also affect the patient and their family members. The National Blood Policy is being implemented in the state by the State Blood Transfusion Council.
Under this policy, safe, comfortable blood and blood clots are made available to the patients. Blood on call Jeevan Amrit Seva scheme has been started in every government hospital of the state. In order to save the lives of patients, many times relatives have to run to get the necessary blood clots. Sometimes this scheme has proved to be a very good undertaking to supply blood to those hospitals as there are no relatives of the patient.
In this, on calling 104 this free number, this call is made in the call center of Pune, where on giving information about the name of the patient, the necessary blood group, the call is connected to the blood bank of the government hospital of the district, due to which the call is made by the concerned hospital. According to the need of the patient, the bag of that blood clot is removed from the cold storage box and immediately delivered to the patient. With this scheme, now the facility of supplying blood in that place to the patients in private hospitals is also being provided by the State Blood Transfusion Council.
Similarly, blood is supplied to sickle cell and thalassemia patients. Despite all this, the government has decided to discontinue this scheme by the end of March. Not only this, prior information has been given to the concerned agency. The closure of this scheme will affect the easy and easy blood supply to the needy patients. Due to which the government needs to reconsider this decision.
In this regard, Dr. Anil Gondia, Officer of Rakt Pedhi Gondia said that the blood on call service had become important in a very short time. Due to this, the patient and his family did not have to wander for blood. It also showed positive results. By doing public awareness for blood donation, blood was being collected on a large scale in the district and it was being distributed to the needy people. This scheme has proved to be life saving for many people. So that the government does not stop this scheme. The government must consider this decision.

This scheme is started in the entire state, patients are getting its benefit in Gondia district also. With this decision of the government, more than 130 employees of the state and three to four employees of Rakt Pedhi located in Gondia will face joblessness.
