Around midnight on Tuesday, a Quincy police officer noticed a black bear within the wooded space behind BJ’s Wholesale Club on Crown Colony Drive.
The bear’s location was unknown Wednesday afternoon, and there have been no different sightings or experiences in a single day.
“Please contact our Communications Division if you happen to see the bear at 617-479-1212 or 911 if an emergency response is needed,” Quincy Police wrote on social media.
“Even if the bear is spotted in a remote or wooded area it is important that we are notified,” police added.
This black bear report comes after a string of latest sightings throughout the area. This is the time of 12 months when black bears are most energetic within the area, resulting in extra experiences from the general public.
