Mumbai: BJP leader Ashish Shelar on Thursday asked the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) whether Maharashtra would attend a feast organized at the house of Bollywood producer-director Karan Johar. Was any one of the ministers also present? Actress Kareena Kapoor and some other actors have been found infected with the corona virus after attending this feast.
Talking to reporters, Shelar said, “I want to know whether any minister from Maharashtra was present at the ‘dinner party’ (dinner) organized at Karan Johar’s residence here. There is a discrepancy in the details that celebrities like Seema Khan and Kareena Kapoor have revealed about the attendees. Is this an attempt to hide some name?”
He said, “As per information shared with me by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials, Seema Khan did not reveal the names of all those who were present at the ‘dinner party’ organized at Johar’s house. I think it was held on December 8.”

The BJP leader said, “The names she did not divulge came to the fore when Kareena Kapoor approached BMC officials to trace the contacts. This raises doubts about the exact number of people attending that feast.” He said the media quoted BMC officials as saying that only eight people had attended the feast.
The former minister said, “I wrote a letter to the BMC asking whether they have acquired the CCTV footage of the Regency building where Johar lives. If this has not been done, then why is it being delayed because it will reveal the number of guests present there. I have been told by BMC officials that no such footage has been obtained so far.” Actresses Kareena Kapoor, Amrita Arora and Seema Khan were found infected with the corona virus earlier this week. She had gone to a banquet organized at Johar’s house. (agency)
