Pimpri: On the very second day of the release of the ward delimitation, there was an earthquake in the political corridors of Pimpri-Chinchwad. Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s ruling BJP’s current corporator and former mayor Keshav Gholwe (Former Deputy Mayor Keshav Gholwe) was arrested by the Pimpri Police last midnight. He is accused of extorting ransom from the merchants of Haat Bazar, which is being disrupted by the Metro project, on the pretext of providing shops on behalf of the Municipal Corporation. In this case, the police have arrested five people including Gholwe.
Former Deputy Mayor of Nationalist Congress Party and current corporator Hiranand alias Dabboo Aswani had yesterday met Police Commissioner Krishna Prakash and complained that some people were extorting money from traders in his name. They are being bullied for money. Taking this complaint very seriously, the police commissioner ordered the Pimpri police to investigate immediately. During the investigation of Aswani’s complaint application, the police interrogated some people by taking them into custody, then the involvement of BJP corporator Keshav Gholve was found in this case. The land in front of Deccan Honda in Pimpri, adjacent to the Pune-Mumbai highway, on which Haat Bazar is located, is being given for the metro project. The accused took 55 thousand rupees from a trader who lodged a complaint with the police on the pretext of providing shops at other places on behalf of the Municipal Corporation to the traders of this Haat Bazar. Along with this, receipts of Rs 1200 were deducted from other traders in the name of Maharashtra Pradesh BJP Shramik Morcha. After this, again a demand of one lakh rupees was made from the complainant trader. When he refused, he was threatened with death. According to this, the police have arrested the above 5 accused including corporator Gholve. At present the investigation of the case is going on.
